Professional Facilitation
Investigations Differently recognises that it can take time for organisations to build the capability and capacity to enable professional facilitation. We offer clients facilitation services including the facilitation of learning teams, risk assessments, and investigations. Whilst delivering our facilitation services, our consultants will take the opportunity to mentor the workforce to grow the organisations capability to deliver a high level outcomes.
Investigations
Our consultants have led and facilitated investigations for over 20 years utilising a variety of analysis methods including Blueline Investigation™, TapRoot©, ICAM©, 5 Whys and Essential Factors©.
At Investigations Differently, we take a fresh approach to workplace investigations. Our investigations focus on learning from “normal work” with our approach utilising a combination of contemporary safety theory including Safety I & Safety II, the principles of Human Organisational Performance (HOP), Safety Differently and Resilience Engineering. Our flexible approach allows us to combine our approach with organisations internal requirements.
We focus on discovering the context and systems of work that enable an event. This ‘new view’ approach to workplace investigations shifts away from the traditional approach and moves to investigations using the principles of a restorative just culture to deliver truly ‘no blame’ outcomes.

Risk Assessments
With many years of experience in high-risk industries, our consultants have facilitated risk assessments identifying credible risks and controls focused on elimination and engineering. Our success is based on harnessing the workers performing the task to identify the true context and system constraints to identify and manage an organisations ‘unknown’ risks.
This learning approach to risk assessments, allows the risk assessment team to explore the work as normal, focus on assessing genuine risks and enable an environment that encourages a risk assessment team to innovate.

Learning Teams
Learning Teams are facilitated workshops, specifically designed to discover how work is really completed by the workforce (work as normal), as opposed to how an organisation intends for work to be completed. Using generative questioning techniques, the facilitator guides the Team through the work to discover the underlying conditions, system and context that drives it. The Team is then tasked with uncovering potential recommendations that address identified issues.
